Lucky Star

Just throwing it out there. For those who liked Azumanga Diaoh, it's pretty much the same, only with LOTS of anime references. Best to watch after having seen Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi and Full Metal Panic. Other anime that are sometimes referenced are Keroro Gunsou and Kanon.

Oh, the first episode is mostly about food, but it gets better so keep watching.

I've never heard about it, but I saw Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi and read the first book. I thought it was ok...really didn't understand it...

I've read all the books of Melancholy out so far... it only becomes clearer and more confusing at the same time. Also, did you watch the anime in chronological order, or Japanese aired order? There is a large difference >.>

Well, easiest way to tell is based of what was the last episode. In the Japanese aired order, it's the one where Haruhi nearly remakes the world. Chronologically, it's Day of Sagittarius, unless you count the anime only episode Someday in the Rain... the one where NOTHING happens.

A certain (ex-friend for a while) told me to watch Lucky Star because he said it was really good, and it is a bit like Azumangadioh and it is pretty good :)

Some of my favorites though include Fruits Basket, Rurouni Kenhin, Yu-Yu Hakusho, Full Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (I'm such a dork xD I don't ever think it's considered a serious manga xDD) and Gakuen Alice

I watched the first episode. It is so cute! Love the opening song, it reminds me of how I talk so fast sometimes.

I used to watch Ruroni Kenshin, but Toonami kept on going back to the first episode....and I couldn't find all the episodes online.

Yu Yu Hakusho and Yu Gi Oh GX were OK, but I never finished.

I love Gakuen Alice. I heard they were gonna make a second season, but I'm not sure...

oh, I went to alluc.org and a few years back when I decided to watch all of the episodes again ( I started watching when I was in about the 3rd grade) it was on youtube.

Yay! Now I can't wait! I'm also waiting for Special A, Vampire Knight, and Code Geass R2! I use animenewsnetwork to check when animes are gonna come out, but it didn't say anything about Gakuen Alice....I'll just wait....

Wikipedia also mentions nothing about a second Gakuen Alice season. Kinda looking forward to some of the others though... but I really want the second season of Melancholy. I think they are suppose to start after Clannad is finished though...

I only hear gossip about season two. But I thought they didn't have enough money so they made season 1 really short.

Season 2 was confirmed. It was confirmed back before Clannad began I think. I know it was after Lucky Star though. They are just being jerks and prolonging our suffering with other really funny anime. I'm really looking forward to it though. Maybe I should re-read the novels to see how much I remember...

Do you know when the second season of Melancholy is gonna come out?

Some of the subtitles for Lucky Star is hard to read... I'm looking everywhere for bigger subtitles...

As for Melancholy, I'm still not aware of when they are doing it, but it has been announced, and they still tease us about it... the jerks...

I also heard that Japan is gonna stop people from subbing anime. :(

I wouldn't be surprised if they did. ALOT of people watch those, and thus, rarely go out and buy anime. I rarely go out and buy it because it's expensive, and the official translations are generally more annoying. I prefer it when they leave in the honourifics and whatnot, instead of directly translating everything.

I like the subbed anime better than the dubbed ones. I can hardly find anime on TV. My friend told me a channel on Direct tv and it was in the thousands number.

The "official" translations aka dubbs are pretty annoying sometimes. Especially with Prince Of Tennis.

I hated the dub for Prince of Tennis. It sounded all wrong. Dubs are so annoying when they have foreigners as characters and they still use an english voice, they don't even use an accent.

I remember watching one of the episodes from Full Moon wo Sagashite. They switched from English to Japenese. Horrible...

I found if you play the English version long enough, it almost... ALMOST sounds ok. Kinda... In the end, the Japanese still sounds better, EXCEPT for Cowboy Bebop... the English was done very well on that. Granted I barely saw any of the Japanese, but some of my friends had, and they thought the English was better.

Hehe, yeah, it's like that. This one is amount my favorites. The group should be finishing up Clannad by now, so I'm hoping they'll get to Melancholy season 2.
